Where do I hunt when looking for Wisdom and Knowledge?

I have been on this journey since I was 12. I started following the ways of Christ then.

My preacher said that there are five books of wisdom. He said they are Job, Proverbs, Psalms, Song of Solomon, and Ecclesiastes. I was soon to find that Proverbs said where ever you could find wisdom which could be most anywhere to take it. Since then my list has expanded to hundreds of books. I put the things I think I should review often in a file called Rules. I read it often.

  • Rules - list of rules I have accumulated over my life and I try to live by.
  • Proverbs - It was the first book I examined every word of. I felt I must understand it.
  • Psalms - It has been read, but not totally understood
  • Song of Solomon - It has been read, but not totally understood.
  • Ecclesiastes - It has been read twice. Only read if you are well grounded.
  • Aesops Fables - I am reading.
  • Job is the book - I am working on now.
  • Ben Franklin I have read his autobiography and lot of his sayings.
  • Confucius is hard for me so far. Not much progress.
  • Councels Of Wisdom read, but not mastered.
  • Wisdom of Amenemopet read.
  • The Maxims of Good Discourse Ptah-hotep / Ptahhotep or Instruction of Ptahhotep.
  • The instruction of Ke'gemni reading.
  • Ghandi I have not found much yet.
  • The History of Herodotus hard to get into.
  • Koran - I read it when I was 12.
  • Machiavelli - Hard, but necessary. Negative virtue. The worst of times.

    • Holy Torah - Genesis...Deuteronomy. Not really wisdom.
    • Holy Ketuvim - Wisdom books plus some.
    • Holy Neviim - Lots of Jewish history. Exposes you to the human condition. Not really wisdom.
